GLENARDEN, Md. (March 3, 2016) – Petrie Richardson Ventures (PRV) and Prudential Real Estate Investors, the owner-developers of the 140-acre, 700,000-square-foot mixed-use development Woodmore Towne Centre, announced today that Virginia-based Kobe Japanese Steak & Seafood signed a long-term lease for 6,461 square feet at the Centre. Their corner space features an outside dining area and patio and is located next to Woodmore Wine Store. Kobe is expected to open late Summer 2016.
“The tepanyaki chefs and sushi artists at Kobe Japanese Steak & Seafood will be a dynamic addition to Woodmore Towne Centre,” said Terry Richardson, president of PRV. “Their new space is equipped with state-of-the-art amenities and high visibility within the Centre, as well as along the major roads that surround the property. It is a local chain that will perfectly complement an already eclectic and inviting dining experience at the Centre.”
Kobe Japanese Steak & Food was represented in the deal by Michael Kim from Aegis Investment Group, LLC.
In February, the Centre became 90 percent leased with new tenants 1000 Degrees Neapolitan Pizza, Hook and Reel Cajun Seafood Restaurant, Honu Hawaiian BBQ, Kumon Learning Center and Wings 21. The new tenants will open in late March/early April. Current restaurant tenants include Chipotle, KBQ barbeque, Irie Bar & Grill, Noodles & Co. and Subway.
Opened in 2010, Woodmore Towne Centre is anchored by Wegmans, Costco, JC Penney, Best Buy and Petco. In the 700,000 square feet of Phase I retail at Woodmore Towne Centre are available tenant spaces ranging from 1,000 to 140,000 square feet. Phase II of the development, delivering Spring 2017, will feature a 30,000-square-foot Nordstrom Rack.
